We are excited that you are considering applying for a place at Faringdon Community College Sixth Form.

Our Sixth Form is here to help you reach your potential and support you into your next chapter, whether that be university, employment, or apprenticeship. We believe that Faringdon Community College can give you the supportive and nurturing environment needed for you to achieve this.

Our aim is to make the application process as seamless as possible, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Before you apply, please look at our curriculum page where you can see the subjects we have on offer (subject to demand). This will give you an insight into the content the A Level subject requires along with the expectations of coursework and exam.

We welcome applications from students currently studying GCSEs at FCC or any other secondary school.

Entry requirements

A GCSE grade of 6 (or above) is a good indicator that a student will be able to successfully cope with the increased challenge and rigour of studying a subject at A-Level. However, our entry requirement has a degree of flexibility to allow us to accept students who we believe have shown the necessary work ethic in Key Stage 4 but have gained a GCSE grade 5 in a subject they wish to study at A Level. A major factor in students achieving success at A level is the effort and commitment shown during KS4 continuing through to KS5.

If you intend to apply to study A Levels at FCC, you should be predicted a GCSE grade 5 in both English and Maths, along with a grade 6 - or higher - in the subjects you have chosen to study at A Level. Students who do not achieve a level 4 GCSE in either Maths or English will need to resit their Maths or English GCSE.
