Attendance and Punctuality
As a school, we believe being in school is the safest and most beneficial place for students to spend their time.
Attending school provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills needed in order to be successful in further education, employment and training, as well as the academic progress that comes with attending lessons consistently.
Missing days from school has a detrimental impact on academic progress, social skills, confidence and increases the chance of developing mental health issues.
We recommend that parents are proactive in seeking support for their children in order to address any barriers that may exist to them accessing school. In the first instance, we ask that parents contact their child's tutor or Head of Year.
We appreciate that some families have unique personal circumstances which can have an impact on attendance. Proactively contacting the school and maintaining an open dialogue with the appropriate professionals is an important factor in ensuring that the right support is in place.
